Please welcome Deb Budworth, Asst. Dir for Fitness!

Debra graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. During her college career, she got a job at the campus recreation center and immediately realized her excitement and personal motivation for health and
fitness. While working full time as an engineer, Debra continued to work part-time at local health and fitness centers as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer.

She is certified through AFAA as a Group Fitness Instructor and ACSM Personal Trainer. She completed her Masters degree in Recreation and Sports Administration from the University of Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky in December of 2008,
while being employed as a Graduate Assistant for Fitness at the campus recreation center.

Deb is looking forward to overseeing the Fitness programs here at UMaine Campus Recreation, including Group Ex, Instructional, and Specialty programs such as the wildly popular Big Bears to Little Bears Challenge.

Deb says: "I am truly excited to be part of a solid foundation of Campus Recreation programming. My ultimate goals are to increase participation in programs, create awareness of health and fitness standards, and educate the campus community on the
importance of health, fitness, and overall wellness... all while offering safe and effective programs."

Stop by and say hello today!
