Full Moon Snowshoe Hike

Join us TONIGHT! for a leisurely snowshoe hike in the University Forest under the light of a full moon from 7-9 p.m. All equipment provided. Members :$10; Non-Members:$15.

Spring Break Group Fit Classes

Group Fitness Classes will end at 12pm on Friday, February 26. ONLY Venerable Vortex from 6:00am- 7:00am and Cycle X from 5:30am-6:30am will be offered during Spring Break. All classes will resume as scheduled on March 15.

BlackBear XC Ski Race

The Black Bear XC Ski Race has been canceled due to insufficient snow fall. At this time there is no reschedule date. If at a later date there is enough snow fall there may be another race created.

Kayak Roll Clinics

Wednesday Feb. 17, 2010 6:30-9PM with Maine Bound!
Our experienced paddle staff will walk you step by step through a sequence that will have you on your way to a great kayak roll! You will also learn the fundamentals of escaping your boat if you flip, and the steps involved in executing an Eskimo rescue.

Katahdin Winter Ascent

This Friday experience Katahdian like you have never seen it before. The first day of this winter adventure will consist of skiing into the base of the mountain. We will learn the basics of how to stay warm in the winter, as well as how to cook in the icy winter back country. The next day we will attempt to summit, a thrill that not many have experienced in winter. Come learn some winter camping skills as well as mountaineering skills with us on Katahdin.

Get your bragging rights this Friday, February 12- Saturday, February 13.

The Black Bear Ski Race that was scheduled to be held on Sunday Feb. 7 is postponed to Sunday Feb. 21 due to lack of snow.

Black Bear Ski Race is questionable for this Sunday

With no snow in the forecast for this coming week, the Black Bear Ski Race is questionable. For the race to take place, would need to receive aleast 4 inches of snow. This doesn't look like this will happen. Will make the final call by Wednesday.
The make-up date will be Sunday, February 21.
